Education and therapeutic support play a critical role in enabling children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to develop communication, behavioral and social skills. At AGI Denim, we believe early diagnosis and structured intervention are essential in improving developmental outcomes and strengthening inclusion.
On Autism Pride Day, AGI Denim visited the Institute of Holistic Rehabilitation and Inclusion (IHRI), an organization working with children with developmental differences through therapy, structured education and community-based support, including outreach for underprivileged groups.
What Is Autism Spectrum Disorder?
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects communication, behavior and social interaction in varying degrees. Early signs may include limited eye contact, delayed speech, sensory sensitivity, and challenges in balance or coordination.
The IHRI team highlighted that early diagnosis, followed by consistent therapeutic support, can significantly improve a child’s ability to develop essential life and functional skills over time.
Understanding Through Awareness and Support Services
The visit began with an awareness session on autism, covering early signs, diagnosis and common misconceptions. A key focus was the importance of timely recognition and family acceptance in enabling effective intervention.
The team also shared insights into the range of rehabilitation services offered by IHRI. These include occupational therapy, which helps individuals develop independence in everyday activities; behavior therapy, which supports communication, learning and positive behavioral outcomes; speech therapy, which strengthens language and communication skills; and physiotherapy, which improves mobility, strength and physical function.
The center also provides cage therapy, a structured therapeutic approach that supports motor development, improves balance and coordination, promotes independence, assists in achieving developmental milestones, contributes to bone ossification and helps prevent muscle atrophy.
A walkthrough of the campus highlighted structured learning and therapy environments designed to support developmental needs in a safe and predictable setting.
Learning, Therapy and Interaction
Inside classroom and therapy spaces, children participated in structured learning activities tailored to their individual developmental levels. Educators and therapists worked closely with each child to support communication, attention and daily living skills through individualized approaches.A painting activity with the children added an interactive layer to the visit, offering space for informal engagement and creative expression alongside structured therapy environments. AGI Denim also shared educational and recreational giveaways with the children to support learning, creativity and continued engagement beyond the visit.
Building Awareness for Inclusion
The visit provided a deeper understanding of how early intervention, therapeutic support and inclusive learning environments contribute to meaningful developmental progress for children with autism.
