AGI Denim presents INHALE, an exciting new collaboration with Simply Suzette. Its founder Ani Wells recognized the impact of microplastics inhaled or added to the atmosphere during textile production. As a result, the Simply Suzette x AGI Denim collection focuses on the concepts of traceability and sustainability.
The collection uses natural fibres such as organic & recycled cotton, linen and hemp, and un-dyed fabrics to minimize environmental impact. The collaboration celebrates the beautiful imperfections of Nature referred to as wabi-sabi. After visiting Japan, this design philosophy inspired Ani Wells to create easy-to-wear, oversized contemporary pieces. Simply Suzette and designer Carl Chiara at AGI have fashioned apparel for circularity and durability, destined to become wardrobe staples.
The SDGs 14 & 15, Life below Water and Life on Land, was considered at every design process stage, and the focus was on recycled and recyclable materials to ensure circularity. The natural fibres are mostly undyed, and even the jeans use indigo with earth mineral pigments. The water used is closed-loop recycled to get a genuinely sustainable dye process.
The collection stays true to the vision of Ani Wells, founder of Simply Suzette and AGI Denim’s philosophy of investing in planet-friendly textile production.
